We had a wonderful lightning storm last night, as well as some great rain! Anyone from Arizona knows how incredible our summer monsoons can get.
| So as every photographer is tempted to do, I ventured outside to experiment with some lightning shots - amazing how much light is created by a single lightning strike. Taking pictures of the lightning you get to notice some very interesting features that you can't see with the naked eye - like how a full lightning bolt starts out a little bit dim before there's a crack and it really lights up the sky. You'll have to excuse the power lines - I'm definitely still working on the whole getting out from under a roof in the lightning bit.... |  |

Along with our monsoons, we get quite the fantastical sunsets around the summertime. I have yet to see sunsets quite like ours anywhere else, that is for sure.
